One-on-one coaching where I engage the student in learning how to learn. I start with a consultation on habits the student already does to organize assignments, and reflect on what didn’t work on a past assignment. My facilitation will be informed by the self-regulation theory. It explains that individuals need to self-monitor their progress and motivation in an iterative fashion to achieve their goals. In the age of AI, having the human connection of receiving feedback while engaging in this self-monitoring practice will be meaningful. My intent is to equip the student with tools that will help them achieve their academic goals.
