Austin Marie Swager

“I have been employed with Hillsborough county schools for five years and have taught math for three years at the elementary and middle school level. I have always had a passion for math and patience to work with people who struggle. I have experience working with struggling students and students with IEP’s and 504’s. I knew teaching was for me when a close friend said you like working with kids and like helping people learn so you have to be a teacher.
When I am not teaching, I like to rollerblade, paddleboard, and ride my bike. I have been able to have the experience of visiting Germany and surrounding countries a couple of times and am always interested in how their schools are structured. I would consider myself a lifelong learner and want my students to be the same. You are never too old or too cool to learn something new. “
