Tutor in SAT Reading/Writing.
Jessie has enjoyed helping students find their connection to history for several years. She received her B.A. in History from Manhattanville College graduating magna cum laude. When she realized she wanted to share her love of history with the public and preserve historic buildings, she went on to earn a M.S. in Historic Preservation at Columbia University. Jessie was awarded the Fellowship for Excellence in Museum Education at the Museum of the City of New York, where she learned how to encourage curious visiting students to delve deeper into initially difficult topics such as history, architecture and urban planning. She continued working in museum education, most recently at the Tampa Bay History Center, organizing programs focused on local history for elementary through high school-aged students. Working with students from various schools using object based learning helped Jessie become a creative educator. Her goal is to help students connect with the subject matter, gain a deeper understanding, and give them the confidence to succeed in their studies.
